Setting healthy Habits

The Setting Healthy Habits process is designed to be a guide to take you through realistic goalsetting so that you're more likely to accomplish what you want to do and turn your goals into habits.

1

WHAT IS MY GOAL?

What is it that you're trying to accomplish? When will you practice this goal? How much time will you devote to accomplish it? Bonus points: make it S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound)!

2

THINK THROUGH THE MOST POSITIVE END RESULT

How would your life look if you accomplished your goal and turned it into a long-term habit? Imagine how that would make you feel — if you were able to accomplish a goal and implement it into your daily life.

2

3

WHAT'S STOPPING ME?

Why haven't you already accomplished your goal? What kinds of things are getting in your way? Is it a bad habit, irrational fear, or busy schedule?

4

HOW CAN I AVOID THOSE OBSTACLES?

What can you change in order to avoid those obstacles? Write out some if/then statements: "If I run into an obstacle, then I will respond in this way so that I can stay on track with my goals."
